Joyce Dassonville graduated from Dalhousie Law School in 1984 and began her professional career practicing law in British Columbia in 1986. She has practiced in both British Columbia and Nova Scotia.

While in Nova Scotia, Joyce worked as a Workers Compensation Appeal Tribunal Commissioner for four years. Four years of experience as an administrative law adjudicator has given Joyce a unique perspective on how decision-makers consider personal injury claims.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Joyce was a Registered Nurse. Joyce’s nursing experience includes high-risk, fast-moving areas such as the labour and delivery room, intensive care nursery, and the operating room. This experience has served Joyce well in her career as a lawyer.

Joyce does a lot of family law work, including Divorce, Custody and Parenting Time, Division of Assets, and Child & Spousal Support.

Joyce takes on all types of personal injury cases, such as motor vehicle accidents, dog bites, and many other types of injury or disease cases. She also handles worker's compensation disputes.
